Hooo baby there's a lot to cover this time! So. Not only are there very minor edits of the main character Raziya Vrede herself, (mainly just resizing and adding a pixelated effect)
but I've also finished designing extra characters characters this time!
To start, here's the main villain. Dwezil Bezique.
To start, here's the main villain. Dwezil Bezique.
Synopsis: A vicious maniacal tyrannical dictator hellbent on maintaining an iron fist clenched on owning the planet Ypos-Erets (or what's left of it anyway) solely for the sake of domination. He's a psychopathic self indulgent bigoted tycoon turned terroristic emperor of the world he destroyed. He feels his race is the superior breed of humanity so much so that he doesn't employ anybody but native residents of Stainless Steel City to be his henchmen and servants. And should any of them speak up, he'll telepathically spiral fracture every bone in their bodies except for the spine and skull just so they can look in horror at their immobility as they scream in agony. Should anybody break into his kingdom, they shall be tried as infidels and based on usefulness, he will execute them, or enslave them. Should anybody on the chunks of Ypos-Erets he owns rebel, he has them enslaved and their town demolished.
His pride and joy and obsession besides galactic domination is his horses. So much so that he wears the hollowed skull of his childhood steed in tribute. He became obsessed with them as a child because his laugh and face are not unlike a horse and they gave him comfort whenever anybody at school picked on him.
I based his design off of various Super Sentai and Square RPG villains, and his personality off of the worst aspects about Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and Donald Trump with a little bit of Kefka for good measure. Not just because Trump is topical at the moment or because I'm progressive and really fucking hate Trump, but because Dwezil should be a very unstable sociopathic main villain. I want him to be unlikable, but scary and not annoying. I wanted to make sure that he will haunt your nightmares.
Now here's a new character! An ally this time, Ebmarah Gammon

Now here's a new character! An ally this time, Ebmarah Gammon
Synopsis: A wild Australian immigrant with a wily side, she was raised in the Electronic Jungle by her environmentalist parents to protect the endangered gorillas before Bezique's forces killed her mother and enslaved her father when she was only 11. Now that she's just turned 18, she still lives in the springs of the jungle. Battling wild predators along side the gorillas and hiding them from Bezique's forces who wanna poach them for their fur and for their meat. She communicates with the gorillas through sign language and has developed superhuman strength. She can lift heavy boulders and suplex large beasts the weight of hippos with ease!
She admires Raziya greatly and has a bit of a crush on her. Despite the darkness of her past, she maintains a chipper demeanor unless there's a battle going on. Her tattered pants are made of synthetic gorilla pelt and she's had to rip off parts of her clothes to heal old wounds she suffered in brawls with wild predators that have tried to eat the young of her gorilla comrades.
I based her body type off of indie wrestler Jordynne Grace, late 80's early 90's waifus and off of power lifters. I wanted to make a plus size character that's soft bodies, but stocky and strong looking. The scars on her stomach arms and face were just to make her look tougher and the leave-rope belt was to further push that wild girl aesthetic. I made her stand like a female gorilla because of the gorilla theme, and I made her face drastically different and in fact, everybody's faces are gonna have some differentium to reflect a certain genetic or ethnic trait or another. Hence why she looks like a plus sized version of a Cyberclock Metal Orange waifu. (Mostly because I studied that art style and Project A-Ko a lot.) I wanted to make her half gorilla half human at first, but while there's certainly room for chimeras in this game being a space themed RPG and all, I decided to make yet another full fledged human.
Besides all this character designing, I've actually begun trying to make a build and coding!
Starting small by making sure Raziya's 6 directional idle stand and walking states are nice and clean.

Oh don't mind me, just starting with the bare basics of a build for my game #QuestOfRaziya while listening to a YouTube cut of The Bubble Gum Brothers' hit single from 1990 "Won't Be Long."

So far, so good. Now I gotta start world building an make more sprites and models etc pic.twitter.com/emp8KvTd9R
I should probably alter the walking sprites a bit so they aren't brighter than her standing state but hey not bad for a beginner eh?
I spent ages watching tutorials struggling to get this to work. I had to mish-mosh code from about 3 different YouTube tutorials before Unity stopped having compiler errors. And I had to re-crop the sprites twice before the animations stopped glitching. I already respected coders before, but this journey has made me respect them even more because although it's not as impossible as it seems, it's pretty tricky.
So now that that's done, I gotta develop more characters and start actual world building. There's gotta be solid ground to walk on right? Plus I've started the process of animating attacks, but those are far from finished. I still have to make extra cycles besides idle standing and walking as well. There's a LOT I gotta make so stay tuned!
