Don't get me wrong. I am every bit as depressed, disgusted, mortified, frightened, infuriated, and overall overwhelmingly disappointed that Donald J Trump won the presidency. Us Berners kept on warning you, if Bernie didn't win, the majority of us would go third party, write-in Bernie (like I did) or write in other write in candidates like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Vermin Supreme and fucking Harambe. A slightly overused meme of a dead gorilla was a more viable candidate than the DNC's corrupt candidate and the RNC's thrice as corrupt Hitler like dictator and money scammer and sex offender of a candidate not to mention his corrupt VP. We had our options of either
Candidate A: Someone with a history of old school corruption with the promise of repenting through bringing in more LGBTQ+ rights, protecting and improving women's rights, improving immigrant rights etc. with no guarantee that will happen since she had a previous history of opposition to those enhancements up until Bernie started talking but at least she had experience, vs
Candidate B: Jock-like arrogance, misogyny, xenophobic racism, islamophobia, authoritarianism, money corruption, pathological lies, ties to the aforementioned corruption loosely related to candidate A, LGBTQphobic beliefs, a history of admitted sexual assault, bankruptcy both financially and morally, teetering business with a history of both success and failure, reality TV pandering, verbal and cyber-bullying, the worst wrestling angle and the worst era in WWE history next to the mid 90's WWF New Generation, inability to properly pronounce "Florida" "big league" and "China," inability to take a stone cold stunner correctly, inability to eat a slice of pizza like a normal person, a history of fake college scamming, childish finger pointing when criticized or questioned, thin skinned responses to criticism and satire, direct ties to a Russian dictator, endorsement from a North Korean dictator, exploitation of conservative American's fears, and subsequent support from white nationalism. (Not that every voter for this candidate is a white supremacist, KKK member or neo-Nazi or voted against candidate A out of sexism.)
Candidate A is of course Hillary, and candidate B is Donald. We were between a rock, (Hillary) a hard place, (Gary) a hard plate made of hemp with a window, (Jill) and the detonation button to the apocalypse. (Donald) Unfortunately due to an uprising of rural evangelist white supremacists, young cons who didn't hate Hillary's gender but believed a few too many rumors, (Not that I'm innocent I wrote-in Bernie,) misogynists who blame every problem America has on millennials and progressives, and blind faith from the hardcore loyal Republicans that didn't jump shift to third parties, we're stuck with Donald Trump for 4 to 8 years unless something happens that gets him impeached or he gets his ass assassinated. (Not that I'd wish an assassination on him.) The man even wants to screw over his own voter base as well as the whole nation by dismantling social security, and is on the verge of doing so as I type!
A holy fuck ton of people across the country are crashing Canada's immigration website, trying to move to Canada, Mexico, select Mexican islands or Japan among other countries like Norway, Germany and Switzerland, chaos and protests ran rampant the night of the election, it's total pandemonium in the worst way possible. But, there are a few silver linings to this unfortunate travesty of social injustice and insult to America's integrity. This historical American tragedy.

1: plenty of progressive women are now in senate, congress and other major political positions.
On Election Night, several progressive voices predominantly female won their respective senatorial and congressional elections. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in Washington DC. Senate Representative Marcia Ranglin-Vessel in Rhode Island. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada. Legislator Attica Scott in Kentucky. Legislator Ilhan Omar in Minnesota. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in Ohio. Senator Jane Calkin in Rhode Island. Senator Tammy Duckworth in Illinois. Each of thee women and many many more can and will stand up against anything Trump tries to put in power and say NO. A very flat straightforward firm and stern motherly NO. IDing Muslims? NO. Building a wall on the Mexican border? NO. Making them pay for it? NO. Repealing reproductive rights? NO. Going to war with Syria to commit mass genocide? HELL NO. These congresswomen, senators and other progressive female winners will oppose anything Trump wants harder than the Republicans were opposing Obama even if the Republicans still hold a majority of the senate. And even male progressive winners like Mark Takano in California, G. Andrés Romero in New Mexico, Juan Mendez in Arizona and Vincent Fort in Georgia just to name only 4 of them will also fight back against Trump vigilantly. A majority of them being non-whites. What's Trump's biggest nightmare? A revolutionary army of strong voices of the historically underprivileged and progressive allies. They could tell him NO for 4 years straight until Trump just can't take their opposition and criticism any longer, picks his ball up and quits. Just resigning due to uprising. And it would be glorious. I'm not saying he will, I'm just wishfully thinking. Trump is a very thin skinned person who doesn't take criticism and opposition very well.
2: Donald Trump is still under FBI investigation and several lawsuits
He's under investigation for Russia ties, (though nothing ties yet,) a woman has sued him for rape but had to drop it twice due to credible threats on her life from the worst of the internet (but I wouldn't put it past her to sue again if she decides to live and I hope she lives,) he's still in mad trouble over that fake university, so if the FBI or the Supreme Court or anybody can find something to indite him on, that means Mike Pence would have to take over as Trump spends jail time. Which would mean we're still fucked, but a perhaps more manageable kind of fucked! Maybe. Maybe? MAYBE??
3: The price of gold just went up (wait that can be bad.)
It can be bad for you if you're a belt maker, or if you're making gold phone cases, but hey maybe you miiiiight make a little more money at Cash4Gold or Global Force Gold if you have some old unwanted useless gold necklaces?... MAYBE? Eh? Hmm... (we are still so fucked...)
4: If we have another chance to elect our first ever female president, it might not be Hillary! For... all.. you... anti-Hillary people...?
Who knows? Maybe Pramila Jayapal can run? Tulsi Gabbard could run for president? Tammy Duckworth? Elizabeth Warren? All of them are political heroes of mine especially war vet Duckworth, and if any of them run for president and win, not only will they break the glass ceiling Hillary made a huge crack in and chipped two times before, but they will shatter other glass ceilings most don't even think about. Like first Asian-American for Duckworth. First President of open Native American descent for Warren. First Indian and more recent immigrant (due to her citizenship in 2000) with Jayapal (which would also make her the first Asian-American president.) First Hawaiian with Gabbard (Racially not just born there like Obama was.) Each of them would be a one-two punch for political equality and social evolution! Sure, some of them may not have all the qualifications Hillary has in terms of experience and how many positions they have taken, but they have the policies, the political experience as well as the potential of crashing more glass ceilings than even Hillary could, to outdo her as a champion for women's rights, as well as their respective races as well as immigrant rights with some of them. If any of them run and Bernie doesn't, or if Bernie runs again against them as the DNC decides to go with a primarily female cast of Democratic hopefuls, then it could be a coin toss as to who I pick. Just not Hillary because I want a less corrupt, less conservative and more historically progressive first female leader. Call that picky whiny millennialism but a clean record is a clean record. It could even be easy for some to vote for a different candidate than Clinton if they take the cynical "you failed us against the biggest misogynist in the world" stance.
5: The WWE Hall Of Fame now has it's first ever president...? (oh who am I kidding they will never live this down knowing who Trump faced.)
...It should have been 2004 WWE Hall Of Famer Jesse "The Body" Ventura! That guy may be considered by many to be nutty, but at least he isn't Trump level nutty. He isn't Hitleresque policy, let's block out an entire race from the country and ID a whole religion level nutty. He isn't power hungry greedy shady businessman turned president and potential dictator nutty. He believes in equal marriage, marijuana legalization and equal pay for every gender and color under the sun as well as non-intrusive government and separation of church and state. Everything Trump and the GOP are afraid of. And unlike Trumpylumps, Jesse has political experience and helped out Minnesota's economy. Couldn't we have a celebrity turned politician running for president that isn't Trump or Reagan? At least Jim Carey would have been funny sometimes. Who's next? Pete Rose in 2020? Good lord we are screwed.
6: You still have your rights! (for now.)
Trump may be working hard to take away your social security and whatnot, but like I said, there's still the rest of congress that will make that a pain in the ass, as they will make all of his other proposals a pain in the ass to sign into law. (except those big Republican chunks) If implementing Obamacare took a while and almost got repealed back when congress wasn't majorly Republican, so can anything Trump wants to throw our way even though congress isn't majorly Democrat or third party. There is still hope and you have yet to lose any of your rights just yet as of this blog, so cherish them while you can.
7:You can always flee the country! (unless the country you wanna move to puts the USA on the no-fly zone and severs all ties with us but even then you can still try...!)
Unless Trump decides to totally isolate us by barring anyone from moving out of the country like a true dictator would, and as long as other countries like the UK and Mexico and Japan are still open to Americans moving in to protest Trump's power, you should be fine. If you can afford to flee the country and you've already received your passport or citizenship papers in the mail.
See? It might not all be bad, and who knows? If he gets impeached, that means we can turn right back around and start this shit again until a far better more qualified president can be sworn in.
